Core Sampling

Heat shrink tubing offers a great way to encapsulate and preserve core samples for oil and gas exploration. Heat shrinkable tubing molds itself around the core sample creating a hard covering that helps maintain sample integrity until ready for analysis. Our heat shrinks provide abrasion resistance and solid encapsulation to stabilize core samples, minimize mechanical disturbance, and aid sample handling.


FEP Heat Shrink

FEP heat shrink for core sample encapsulation provides sturdy containment that is optically clear and strong. FEP is highly resistant to almost all common acids, bases, and hydrocarbons and has low gas permeability to prevent outside factors from invading your sample after encapsulation. FEP heat shrink has a lower recovery temperature than similar high-performing heat shrinks such as PEEK and PTFE but can still tolerate working temperatures up to 392 °F (200 °C).
