Zeus Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink tubing has been engineered to produce wall thicknesses 0.005″ (0.127 mm) and below down to 0.0010″ (0.0254 mm) with tolerances of ± 0.0005″ (0.0127 mm) available in most sizes. This super-thin-walled heat shrink fills a critical need for our customers who are demanding thinner walls for their specialized applications.

Primary extruded in PTFE, we also offer our Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink in FEP, PFA, and PEEK for a broad spectrum of applications. For PTFE, this highly versatile polymer become the gold standard for tubing options requiring high lubricity, temperature endurance, precision tolerances, and biocompatibility. As a heat shrink, PTFE has a high presence in areas ranging from medical devices, analytical and laboratory equipment, chemical environments, to industrial equipment.

With the lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer, PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink is easy to wipe clean and not prone to staining. This heat shrink is flame resistant and imparts excellent mechanical strength to covered components for its wall thickness compared to other polymer coverings.

  • APPLICATIONS

    Catheter Lead Delivery – Our Sub-Lite-Wall™ products are developed to support the critical functions and construction for multiple catheter types from guide sheaths for varying flexibility and strength down to the smallest microcatheter.

    Balloon and Stent Protectors – Zeus’ novel stent encapsulation technology provides a safe and biocompatible means for controlled implantation of stent devices with minimal additional thickness. Our polymer covering mimics the body’s extracellular matrix minimizing the possibility of rejection.

    Batteries – Zeus heat shrinks are a popular choice where efficiency and dielectric strength are most important for battery coverings. Sub-Lite Wall™ heat shrink removes the waste and inconsistency of tape and can be installed quicker and easier than wrapping.

    Diagnostic – When visualization is of primary importance, such as in brain angiography, our biocompatible catheter components such as our PTFE heat shrink inner catheter liners are chemically unreactive not only with body components but also with dyes which are commonly used for contrast material. Zeus PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink can withstand a range of sterilization protocols to minimize the risk of catheter-associated infections.

    Endoscopy – Sub-Lite-Wall™ inner liners for catheters provide the utmost in lubricity, electrical performance, chemical resistance, and are UV sterilizable. Because of their extremely low coefficient of friction, PTFE Sub-Lite Wall™ liners are ideal as inner walls through which instruments can be passed.

    Sensors – Heat shrink options are a convenient and efficient way to protect and insulate valuable sensors particularly in a microenvironment. Zeus Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink provides multiple customization options for your exact operating conditions allowing for extended life of your sensor components.

  • KEY PROPERTIES

    Biocompatibility – PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink is fully biocompatible and USP Class VI approved making it ideal for use associated with medical and clinical devices.

    Broad Working Temperature Range – Zeus PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ has a working temperature range of 500 °F (260 °C) to -328 °F (-200 °C).

    Chemical Resistance – PTFE is resistant to all common solvents including acids, bases, and hydrocarbons.

    Easy to Clean – Because of highly lubricious nature, PTFE’s surface is inherently non-stick making the Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink easy to wipe clean.

    Excellent Dielectric Strength – PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink’s exceptional dielectric strength prevent electrical interference coming from or getting into your covered components.

    Flame Resistant – In addition to its temperature tolerance, PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ heat shrink is very disinclined to burn with a UL 94 rating of V-0.

    Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) – Supporting PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall’s™ flame resistance, this material is extremely difficult to burn with an LOI of >95.

    Low Coefficient of Friction – PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer.

    Low Extractables – PTFE has an extremely low level of chemical extractables minimizing the chance of substances leaching into your materials from the heat shrink.

    Mechanical Resistance – After recovery, PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall™ imparts superior strength and mechanic toughness to your covered components.

    Sterilizable – PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall’s™ can hold up to EtO and autoclave sterilizations.

    All Sub-Lite-Wall™ is custom ordered.

    Our Sub-Lite-Wall™ is now available in configurations with wall thicknesses as low as 0.001″ (0.025 mm) on many sizes. Tolerances of ± 0.0005″ (0.0127 mm) are available in most sizes. Call us for more details.
