PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall® StreamLiner™ XT and VT
Accommodating the most in-demand catheter sizes down to the smallest microcatheter, our new PTFE Sub-Lite-Wall® StreamLiner™ series lets engineers and clinicians explore new delivery systems and improve patient care.
StreamLiner™ XT offers a maximum wall thickness of 0.00075″ (0.01905 mm) and an ID range of 0.004″ – 0.040″ (0.102 – 1.016 mm) unetched, and 0.013″ – 0.040″ (0.330 – 1.016 mm) etched.
As a thin-walled liner, StreamLiner™ XT is the soon-to-be standard for microcatheter construction to support the next generation of minimally invasive therapies.
StreamLiner™ VT is slightly larger and provides a maximum wall thickness of 0.001″ (0.025 mm) with an ID range of 0.004″ – 0.120″ (0.102 – 3.048 mm).
For larger and more common sizes, StreamLiner™ VT fills this demand and provides clinicians with a new standard of strength and flexibility for catheter-based therapies.

Catheters made with StreamLiner™ series PTFE liners allow for a reduced overall profile with greater lumen potential for finished catheter devices. The greater lumen afforded by StreamLiner’s™ thinner walls results in reduced deployment force for various intra-lumen catheter technologies. The higher strength of StreamLiner™ PTFE catheter tubing translates into improved pushability and supports better tractability.
For microcatheter design, StreamLiner™ XT allows greater access to the smallest vasculatures and most tortuous anatomies.

- KEY PROPERTIES
Biocompatible – PTFE has a long and proven history of safe use within the body. PTFE is USP Class VI certified.
Chemical Resistance – PTFE’s fully fluorinated nature renders it inherently unreactive towards almost all commonly encountered chemicals and bodily fluids.
Extremely Thin Walls – The StreamLiner™ series improves our already thinnest-in-class liner size to a new maximum wall thickness of 0.00075″ / 0.01905 mm (StreamLiner™ XT).
Low Coefficient of Friction – PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer resin; this trait makes PTFE especially effective for micro-catheter design where lubricity and smoothness of surface are a necessity.
Sterilizable – As a PTFE component, this product is sterilizable by ETO and autoclave (maximum working temperature of 260 °C / 500 °F).
Strength and Flexibility – Our proprietary LoPro™ technology has allowed us to create the thinnest liners yet but with superior strength and comparable flexibility compared to dip-coated liners.
Tight Tolerances – Sub-Lite-Wall® StreamLiner™ XT standard ID tolerance is ± 0.0005″ (0.0127 mm) while VT ID standard tolerance can be as low as ± 0.001″ (0.025 mm) for ID’s greater than 0.100″ (2.54 mm).
