Spiral Cut Tubing
Spiral cut tubing (also known as spiral wrap) protects and bundles optical fibers for communication and allows liquids to penetrate and reach optical fiber sensors. The tube’s spiral cut also allows individual fibers to be “broken out” anywhere along the length of the cable allowing for multiple connection points. Spiral cut tubing provides protection for optical fiber sensors while allowing contact with the liquid medium. PTFE and FEP spiral wrap are most popular for cabling, but other resins are available upon request.

Convoluted Tubing
Convoluted tubing (also known as flexible conduit) provides an extra barrier between the fiber optic cable or bundle and the physical environment. Convoluted tubing is particularly beneficial in protecting against abrasion while improving flexibility and reducing microbend. Convoluted tubing is offered in ETFE, FEP, PTFE, and PVDF; other resins are available.

Extruded Tubing
Sheathing (also known as furcation tubing or loose tube) is extruded tubing that provides a tough outer covering over the fiber optic bundle and a lubricious pathway in which the optical fibers can be easily installed. Sheathing is available in all of our common resins including ETFE, FEP, PTFE, PEEK, PVDF, as well as many other resins.
