Zeus provides high-quality double containment tubing, a material of choice in semiconductor, critical fluid, and other industries requiring low levels of chemical extractables and high continuous service temperatures.

In addition to our high-performing conventional tubing, Zeus offers industry-standard double containment tubing (also called dual containment tubing). This “tube-within-a-tube” configuration helps prevent the introduction of contaminants during installation and allows for long, continuous lengths to be maintained without the need for welding or heat bending.

This tubing has an inner tube of high purity (HP) PFA surrounded by an outer tube of FEP for protection from potential hazardous fluid leaks. Double containment tubing offers low gas permeability, high mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, and is resistant to nearly all common solvents.

Our double containment tubing exceeds the stringent requirements of the SEMI F57 specification. We also offer a wide array of semiconductor industry standard and custom sizes, as well as options for material combinations.

Our capabilities include manufacturing standard double containment tubing in sizes ranging from 0.047″ (1.194 mm) to 0.063″ (1.600 mm) wall and 0.25″ (6.35 mm) outside diameter (OD) to 1.25″ (31.75 mm) OD. This product is end-capped and clean room packaged. Our dual containment tubing can also be provided with other special options, including pre-cut spool lengths, custom laser markings, private labeling, and special packaging.

  • APPLICATIONS

    Critical Fluids – For fluid management, dual containment tubing offers an added level of protection against leaks as well as permeation of gases and ionic contaminants.

    Semiconductor – The extremely low levels of chemical extractables of Zeus dual containment tubing drive its popularity in the semiconductor industry.

  • KEY PROPERTIES

    Chemical resistance – For critical fluids management, tubing with superior chemical resistance is key. Zeus dual containment tubing is resistant to almost all common solvents.

    High lubricity – The highly lubricious nature of both the PFA and FEP means that this tubing product is easy to place in your application and allows for easy manipulation of the individual tubes.

    Flame resistant – Zeus dual containment tubing is highly flame-resistant.

    Low gas permeability – Both FEP and PFA have substantially lower permeation to gases than most other plastics, making this product a good option when gas permeation is a concern.

    Maintains mechanical strength at high temperatures – FEP and PFA have maximum service temperatures of at least 392 °F (200 °C), allowing for broad flexibility in a number of applications.

    Protection against ionic contamination – Should your tubing be exposed to external environments with harsh ionizing chemicals, dual containment tubing helps protect not only the fluid component, but the tubing’s non-reactive chemical nature also resists being eroded by the chemicals. Likewise, the reverse is true where the inner layer of the dual containment tubing is inert to the fluid flowing through it and thus helps prevent potential erosion or chemical etching of the inside diameter of the tubing.

    SEMI F57 certified material – This standard, delineating the criteria for polymer materials and components used in ultrapure water and liquid chemical distribution systems, has been approved by Liquid Chemicals Global Technical Committee.

    Superior high-purity properties – With the high degree of purity of the polymer components of dual containment tubing, you can have equally high confidence that this product will not adversely affect your critical fluids management.

    Ultra-low metallic and organic extractables – Coming from the tubing itself, these unwanted chemical entities can attack the tubing wall to degrade it while simultaneously contaminating the fluid. Zeus dual containment tubing offers protection against these types of contaminants.
