Much like our Industrial Wall Tubing, this American Wire Gauge (AWG) tubing is ideal for industrial applications involving high pressure or where high abrasion resistance is required. This tubing still possesses all of the desired properties fluoropolymers are known for but with added strength.

Zeus Heavy Wall PTFE Tubing is ideal for automotive, chemical, and mechanical applications. With additional wall thickness comes additional strength and burst pressure of the tubing. This product is highly suitable for use as laboratory ware or in conjunction with critical fluid handling equipment and applications. Calculate burst pressure here.

In addition to heavy walled PTFE, we can provide this type of tubing in FEP or PFA. Other fluoropolymers may also be available in heavy walled forms. • APPLICATIONS

Aerospace – Heavy wall tubings are more durable than their more typical thinner-walled counterparts which allow them to better endure the rigors of environments encountered in the aerospace industry. Depending on your choice of polymer for construction, heavy wall tubing can possess extremely high strength to protect cables and wires or for fluid transport and at high internal pressures.

Automotive – Heavy walled tubing may be applied in a variety of areas for automotive uses where lubricity, chemical resistance to fuels, and strength are required; these applications could include break lines, pneumatic actuators, or power steering hoses, just to name a few.

Energy – For the oil and gas industry, Zeus heavy wall tubing provides an excellent option for protection of probes, cables, and other devices while offering polymer options with excellent flammability ratings.

Fiber Optics – Heavy walled tubing may be your best suited option to protect delicate fiber optics where particularly harsh conditions may exist. Heavy walled tubing provides an even greater element of abrasion protection as well as strength.

Fluid Management – For this application, customers choose heavy wall tubing when they need the added burst pressure. This type of tubing lends itself to a variety of fluid managements applications where strength is a primary concern.

Laboratory – Heavy wall tubing is highly suited to laboratory plumbing where high pressures are often encountered such as with larger chromatography systems or for hoses connecting gas cylinders. Heavy wall tubing also prevents the tubing from collapsing for procedures requiring a vacuum to be applied.

  • KEY PROPERTIES

Abrasion Resistance – The polymer resins we use to make heavy walled tubing are all extremely tough and provide a superior resistance to abrasion for protection of fragile wires and cables or other sensitive contents.

Increased Burst Pressure – For areas such as oil and gas exploration which may require large volumes of fluid flow or down to laboratory size tubings where very high pressures are common, Zeus heavy walled tubings can provide the added burst pressure you need for these applications. The ability to withstand higher burst pressures is also a preferred feature for aerospace applications where tubings are exposed to external pressures below atmospheric.

    Calculate burst pressure here.

Strength – Available in multiple resins, heavy wall tubing allows you to take advantage of the preferred characteristics of fluoropolymers while giving you the option for a significant upgrade in strength through increased wall thickness. The added wall thickness also increases the burst pressure of the tubing.
