Orangeburg, South Carolina Facility Will Provide An Opportunity For Zeus To Build-Out Its Corporate Campus

Orangeburg, S.C. – (July 17, 2019) – Zeus Industrial Products, Inc. (Zeus), a leading polymer extrusion manufacturer and material science innovator, has entered into a contract to purchase the building currently housing Mayer Industries Inc. (Mayer). The deal will close by the end of this year when Mayer concludes operations and exits its facilities. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Located at 3777 Industrial Boulevard in Orangeburg, South Carolina, the Mayer property is near two existing Zeus facilities: the Zeus Sales and Marketing building and the Frank P. Tourville, Jr. Engineering Center of Excellence. Although exact plans for the site are undetermined, its proximity to other Zeus facilities creates the opportunity to design a corporate campus. In addition, this strategic location would offer Zeus increased visibility from Interstate 26 should future development plans for the site unfold.

To begin the handover process, Zeus has filed a Voluntary Cleanup Contract (the Contract) with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The company has also hired Charleston-based S&ME to conduct the environmental studies requested by DHEC. Zeus and S&ME will work together to ensure compliance with the Contract and satisfactory completion of all voluntary cleanup activities.

Zeus is currently assisting Mayer employees by providing job opportunities to those affected by the plant closure.

Purchasing the Mayer building is part of Zeus’ ongoing expansion project in the region. The company recently purchased a facility in St. Matthews, South Carolina and is building a new plant near Columbia, South Carolina.
