Biocompatibility – Bioweb™ is made from biocompatible PTFE and PU, is non-toxic, and can safely exist in the body.
EtO Sterilization – Electrospun PTFE and PU in Bioweb™ can be sterilized with EtO.
Low Temperature Encapsulation – Bioweb™ stent encapsulations can be performed at lower temperatures (266 °F / 130 °C) than traditional ePTFE coverings (572 °F / 300 °C), preventing damage to nitinol stent framework.
Non-Reactive – Bioweb™’s minimal chemical reactivity means that this material will not degrade the metal stent (nitinol, cobalt chromium, or stainless steel) framework.
Porous Structure – Bioweb™’s open pore structure makes this material potentially suited for improved tissue in-growth. Additionally, the porous outer layer made from nanofibers creates an increased interface to potentially allow for better endothelialization when compared to conventional, or stretched, ePTFE products.
