Bend Radius

The question is often raised as to what is the minimum bend radius of a specific size of tubing.

The bend radius is established primarily by three different factors: diameter, wall thickness, and resin.

Zeus prides itself in its sample program where we work with companies to find the right material and perfect size.

As a general guide, however, we have performed a series of bend tests that we hope will guide you in determining the size that is most suitable for you.

The following is a guide to the bend radius of our PTFE Industrial Wall (.030) tubing (based on a minimum of 36" lengths):

Size (inches)
Diameter* (inches)
1/31 Industrial
.660
1/16 Industrial
1.375
3/32 Industrial
2
1/8 Industrial
3.25
3/16 Industrial
4
1/4 Industrial
6.5
5/16 Industrial
8
3/8 Industrial
9
7/16 Industrial
9.5
1 Industrial

Note: As a rule of thumb, the bend radius is 1/2 the diameter at room temperature.
