Extruded Resin Properties

Zeus extrudes a wide variety of fluoropolymers and specialized plastics with a history of successful medical and industrial applications. For more detailed technical information about each resin, click on the links to the right or view our Summary of Properties.

Note: We do not sell resin. We manufacture extruded polymer tubing. The following technical information is presented to help assist in your selection of a resin for extruded tubing or heat shrink.

Fluoropolymers

PTFE

(Polytetrafluoroethylene)
  • Lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer
  • Extremely broad working temperature range
  • Maximum working temperature 500° F
  • More info about PTFE >>

FEP

(Fluorinatedethylenepropylene)
  • More transparent than PTFE
  • Better gas and vapor permeability properties than PTFE
  • Maximum working temperature 400° F
  • More info about FEP >>

PFA

(Perfluoroalkoxy)
  • Higher continuous service temperature than FEP
  • Melt processible - so it can be processed in longer continuous lengths than PTFE
  • Maximum working temperature 500° F
  • More info about PFA >>

PVDF

(Polyvinylidene Flouride)

THV

(Tetrafluoroethylene, Hexafluoropropylene and Vinylidene Fluoride)

ETFE

(Ethylenetetrafluoroethylene)

ECTFE

(Chloro Trifluoro Ethylene / Ethylene Copolymer)

Other Polymers

PET

(Polyethylene Terepthalate Polyester)
  • UV resistant
  • Extremely strong

PEEK

(Polyetheretherketone)
  • High temperature performance
  • Extremely high tensile strength
  • Maximum working temperature 482° F

Nylon

(Nylon 6/6, Nylon 11, Nylon 12, Pebax)
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Wide range of flexibility

Polyethylene

(HDPE, MDPE, LDPE)
  • Inherent lubricity
  • Excellent chemical resistance
