Teflon Heat Shrink

Background

Leveraging our core technology of precision extruded Teflon Tubing, Zeus pioneered the development of heat shrink Teflon Tubing. Building upon this development, Zeus has continued to introduce innovative heat shrinkable products and is a high-volume manufacturer of custom fluoropolymer heat shrinkable tubing in a range of polymers (PTFE, FEP, PFA, etc.)

What is Teflon® Tubing?

Heat shrinkable Teflon tubing or "Teflon heat shrink" are common names for what is usually "PTFE heat shrink". Teflon® is a registered trademark of DuPont and refers to three fluoropolymer resins: PTFE, FEP, and PFA. For more information on the distinction please refer to our page on Teflon Tubing. Zeus can manufacture Teflon heat shrink tubing in all three Teflon® resins.

Teflon Resins

As you browse through our site please note that we segment our products by their chemical name (PTFE, FEP, PFA, etc.) rather than their trade names. We manufacture and stock Teflon® heat shrink in two primary resins: PTFE and FEP.

Stock Heat Shrink Tubing

Heat shrink tubing is offered in a variety of sizes, dimensions, and shrink ratios. Download our catalog  for a full list of stock tubing sizes.

Customized Heat Shrink Tubing

Zeus can customize heat shrinkable tubing for your unique application. We can control the expanded as well as recovered dimensions such as wall thickness and O.D. Contact us for more information about customized heat shrink tubing.

PTFE Heat Shrink Guidelines

  • Requires 650°F +/- 25° (340°C +/- 5°) to recover
  • The mandrel being covered must be able to withstand this range of temperature.
  • We recommend pre-heating large diameter mandrels and giving sufficient time for recovery.
  • Even heating and cooling of all sides will provide the best result.
  • See special note below

FEP Heat Shrink Guidelines

  • Requires 420°F +/- 50° (215°C +/- 10°) to recover
  • Only requires a small degree of recovery
  • See special note below

Special Note:

All of our products conform to both military and commercial standards, and in most cases, exceed the intent of these standards. The heat shrink temperatures listed here are general guidelines. Actual shrink temperatures vary depending on the design and dimensions of the heat shrink, application techniques and other factors.
